You can pretty much infer what this book is about based on the title. Leah is a serial killer of serial killers, a la Dexter. Liam is the member of the FBI's BAU who's on her trail. As a huge fan of horror and also Criminal Minds, I was here for this crossover.

I found Leah and her methods really interesting---the book opens with a brutal and highly entertaining torture/murder scene, so my expectations were high for the rest of the book. It shifted into the more familiar story arc of a crime procedual after that, which was entertaining, but I didn't connect with Liam as much as I'd hoped, so found myself nitpicking the FBI details more than I likely would have otherwise. He wasn't a bad character by any means, just a lot of the usual Good Guy Investigator archetype, which was not as fun as Leah.

I really enjoyed the writing style of this book, it was tight and engaging, and the plot was twisty and fun. I've read books before that alternated POV type (Liam's chapters were 3rd person, Leah's were 1st) and didn't love it, but it worked for me here and was a unique addition. I predicted a few of the big reveals, which I'm always torn on---I want to be able to in theory so that the events make sense, but I still like to be surprised! I did find the ending intruiging enough that I'd check out a book 2 if there is one, and am curious to read more this author's work.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers, & the author for the advance copy in exchange for my honest review.
